Adventure in Medicine
An interprofessional event for SAU Pre-health students to learn to triage patients and hands-on skills development.
Advising
Individual consultations can be scheduled to discuss the medical school application process, requirements, personal statement reviews, or any other questions that pre-medical students may have.
MCAT Help
Several resources are available for college students needing help in preparing for the MCAT.
Med Table Talks
Med Table Talks are virtual roundtables that occur on a monthly basis throughout the school year. Each session will feature a different health career area. Special guests will include students and current professionals working in the field. This program is designed for the pre-health professional student to explore various health careers. Mock Interviews
Mock Interviews help students practice articulating their thoughts and ideas before medical or professional school interviews occur. Mock interviews can be set up with a Education Coordinators as well as a variety of professionals in various fields of interest. Articles about interviewing from a variety of sources are also offered to participating students. Contact your Education Coordinator to set up a mock interview.
Presentations
Presentations on applying to Medical/Professional schools and interview skills are available on campus upon request. Organizations interested in arranging for a presentation to be held at your school should contact a local Education Coordinator.
Tours
The UAMS College of Medicine Pre-Medical Spring tour is organized and encouraged each year in April. Other tours organized by UAMS Center for Diversity are available in the spring and fall. If you are interested in attending these tours or setting up a specific tour on another date, contact your UAMS Regional Recruiter.
UAMS Days
This program is designed to inform and introduce a variety of educational opportunities, and career paths available at our academic institution. College age participants are exposed to training programs offered within our five UAMS colleges and The Graduate School.
Volunteering/Shadowing
Professional schools are looking to see that you are compassionate and truly care about helping others. Through volunteer opportunities, students are able to get first hand medical experience and information about the many careers in medicine. Various opportunities are available throughout the year.
