The UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine’s Community Health and Education Division offers virtual and on-demand CME/CE for family medicine across the state.
REACH: Reaching Educators and Children
REACH offers a six-month training and coaching partnership with early childhood education programs, promoting healthy social and emotional development in children. The training shows teachers how to help children self-regulate and develop positive social skills. Teachers also learn strategies to manage challenging behaviors in children from birth to 5. This program is offered statewide for early childhood education programs.
HEART Moms (Helping Expand Access to Rural maternal care Transformation for Moms)
HEART Moms strengthens workforce training and supports coordinated systems of care to improve maternal health.. It focuses on reducing maternal mortality and addressing key service gaps in rural areas of the state. Primary partners include Ashley County Medical Center, Arkansas Department of Health local health units, South Arkansas Regional Hospital, Ouachita County Medical Center, Magnolia Regional Medical Center, Arkansas Rural Health Partnership, and South Arkansas Women’s Clinic.
UAMS MOTHER
The UAMS MOTHER program offers home visiting and care coordination for high-risk pregnant and postpartum patients in 19 Arkansas counties. The program extends care beyond the clinic with in-home support, health monitoring, postpartum follow-up, and coordination of medical and social services.
Mother & Infant Supply Kits
The mother & infant supply kits provide essential postpartum and newborn supplies to families who live far from retail stores, pharmacies, or follow-up care. The kits help bridge gaps during the early weeks after delivery.
UAMS College of Health Professions – Nutrition Seminar Series
The Department of Dietetic and Nutrition in the College of Health Professions hosts eight continuing education nutrition seminars (both in-person and virtually) each year for registered dietitians, physicians, physician assistants, nursing professionals, and pharmacists across the state.
