UAMS College of Health Professions – Medical Laboratory Sciences Extended Internship Program

The extended internship program is a flexible route to a Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory sciences, with both three-semester and five-semester tracks available. This program is designed for students who can’t move to Little Rock, especially those living in rural or underserved parts of Arkansas. By training students locally, hospitals can transition interns directly into full-time employees who are familiar with the facility’s culture and systems. The program blends online coursework with extended clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities where students gain high-level diagnostic skills while staying connected to their local community.
