UAMS Rural Health Hub

April 14th, 2026 — Leadership Presentation

Introduction

The UAMS Rural Health Hub website is a new centralized resource that brings together — for the first time in one place — everything UAMS does to serve rural Arkansas. The site catalogs more than 70 programs and resources across clinical care, education, research, and community outreach. Whether someone is a patient looking for a clinic, a student exploring a health career, a researcher, or a community partner, they now have a single front door into UAMS’s rural mission.

UAMS has always done enormous work in rural health, but it was scattered across dozens of department and college websites. This hub makes that work visible, connected, and accessible — both externally to the public and internally as a tool for showcasing UAMS’s statewide impact.

Program Breadth

One of the site’s most powerful stories is just how many programs UAMS runs across rural Arkansas — and this site catalogs them all in one place:

  • Education: 7 levels of training — from middle school STEM activities through residency, fellowship, and continuing ed for working professionals.
  • Clinical Care: Family Medical Centers and Specialty clinics mapped statewide, plus Mobile Health Units that bring care directly into communities.
  • Research: Active rural research programs, including a 12,000+ participant registry and a dedicated telehealth evaluation center.
  • Community: 10+ programs on the ground covering cancer navigation, maternal health, senior care, early childhood mental health, and more.

The site makes it easy to see that UAMS’s rural health work isn’t a handful of initiatives — it’s a comprehensive, statewide system.

About the Rural Health Hub

Interactive Maps

The site includes an interactive map system showing exactly where UAMS is delivering care across Arkansas. Users can see at a glance the statewide footprint across specialty areas such as cardiology, neurology, psychiatry, pediatrics, orthopaedics, genetics, transplant, therapy and rehabilitation, Family Medical Centers, Centers on Aging, and Regional Campuses.

This site is a living resource — and a platform for telling the UAMS rural health story to patients, students, donors, policymakers, and partners. The goal is to keep growing it as our programs grow.
