Why Submit a Proposal?
Presenting at the Fair is an opportunity to:
- Showcase your residency program to a motivated audience of medical students
- Contribute to the professional development of the next generation of primary care physicians
- Highlight the breadth of training, mentorship, and community available in Arkansas
- Connect with students from across the region who are actively exploring their residency options
Presentation Formats
Lecture
A structured, didactic presentation delivered to a general session audience. Lectures should be evidence-based, engaging, and relevant to medical students entering primary care. Suggested length: 30-60 minutes, including time for Q&A.
Panel Discussion
A facilitated conversation among three to five speakers representing diverse perspectives on a shared topic. Panels are ideal for subjects that benefit from multiple viewpoints, such as career pathways, practice settings, or work-life integration. Suggested length: 45–60 minutes.
Lunch Table Topic
An informal, small-group conversation held during lunch. A faculty facilitator leads a discussion at their assigned table, allowing students to engage in candid conversation on a focused topic. No formal presentation materials are required. Length: 45 minutes.
Skills Lab
A hands-on, interactive session in which students practice a clinical skill or procedure under faculty supervision. Skills labs should include a brief orientation, supervised practice, and time for questions. Proposers are responsible for identifying equipment needs. Suggested length: 45-60 minutes.
Selection Process
All proposals will be reviewed by the fair’s selection committee. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Appropriateness of format for the proposed content
- Educational value and anticipated student engagement
- Presenter qualifications and experience
- Balance of topics and formats across the overall program
Submitters will be notified of the committee’s decision following the review period. Selected presenters will receive additional information regarding logistics, audiovisual support, and room assignments. Presenters will receive complimentary fair registration and be featured in event marketing.
