
Dr. Jacquelene Childs is a board-certified family medicine physician with a deep passion for providing comprehensive care to families. Her approach emphasizes holistic well-being and the strengthening of family units. Originally from Michigan, Dr. Childs earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan–Dearborn in 2003, followed by an M.S. in Applied Physiology from Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL, in 2005. She continued at Rosalind Franklin University to complete her M.D. at Chicago Medical School in 2011 and then pursued her Family Medicine Residency in the Obstetrics Track at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL, from 2011 to 2014.
After completing residency, Dr. Childs served as Assistant Professor and Core Faculty in the Ascension Providence Family Medicine Residency Program from 2014 to 2023, where her practice included non-surgical obstetrics and oversight of didactics and simulation education for the residency. She joined UAMS in April 2024 as an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Core Faculty member of our developing residency program. In 2025, she was named Medical Director of the UAMS Health Family Medical Center- El Dorado. Dr. Childs is excited to welcome residents to the care team in the program she has helped build. She firmly believes in fostering strong processes within the practice, enabling providers to collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality care to address the diverse medical needs of South Arkansas.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Childs is actively involved in church activities and her children’s pursuits. As a dedicated University of Michigan football season ticket holder (GO BLUE!), she enthusiastically supports her alma mater. She is currently undertaking the challenge of visiting all 52 Arkansas state parks, embracing her love of the outdoors.
