Program Partnerships
Our Program is paired with the UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine Residency Program based in Little Rock, Arkansas. PGY-1 residents train at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and conduct their continuity clinics at the UAMS Family Medical Center. PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents transition to El Dorado, receiving comprehensive, broad-scope family medicine training with an emphasis in obstetrics in an unopposed environment.

UAMS Family Medical Center El Dorado serves as the main clinical site and continuity clinic for PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents. It offers comprehensive primary care, providing patients with individualized, high-quality treatment in a respectful, compassionate, and private setting.

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the primary training hospital in PGY-1. UAMS is the state’s only health sciences university, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a hospital; a main campus in Little Rock; a Northwest Arkansas regional campus in Fayetteville; a statewide network of regional campuses; and seven institutes: the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute, Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute, Psychiatric Research Institute, Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, Translational Research Institute and Institute for Digital Health & Innovation.
UAMS includes UAMS Health, a statewide health system that encompasses all of UAMS’ clinical enterprise. UAMS is the only adult Level 1 trauma center in the state. UAMS has 3,200+ students, nearly 900 medical residents and fellows, and five dental residents. It is the state’s largest public employer with more than 12,000 employees, including 1,200 physicians who provide care to patients at UAMS, its regional campuses, Arkansas Children’s, the John L. South Arkansas Regional Hospital

The primary training hospital for PGY-2 and PGY-3 is South Arkansas Regional Hospital in collaboration with UAMS, (SARH) newly and locally owned nonprofit, community-based healthcare center. Formed through the partnership of three area foundations and one academic medical center, SARH is committed to providing high-quality services close to home. Within this 166-bed medical center, you will find over 400 healthcare professionals, acute care Level III trauma Center, inpatient services, emergency services, intensive care, general surgery, orthopedics, Behavioral Health and one of the only labor and delivery units in South Arkansas.
SARH commitment to excellence has been recognized by esteemed organizations in the healthcare industry. They have received awards such as the American Heart Association Stroke Gold Quality Achievement Award, Cribs for Kids Nursery Safe Sleep Silver Certification, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade “B” Facility, and Arkansas Governor’s Quality Award Challenge Level. These accolades are a testament to their unwavering dedication to providing exceptional care to our community.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital

Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) is the premier children’s hospital in the state of Arkansas with over 500 physicians and 200 residents. ACH is a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Little Rock and serves children from birth to 21. The hospital includes 336 beds and offers three intensive care units. The campus spans thirty-six city blocks and has a floor space of over 2,000,000 square feet. ACH provides training opportunities during PGY-1.
South Arkansas Women’s Clinic

SAWC provides training opportunities during the PGY-2 and PGY-3 years.
