The librarian conducts Internet Access training classes for health professionals. Database searches are conducted for health professionals using the National Library of Medicines databases and various Internet resources.
The UAMS East library houses health-related textbooks, medical reference books, anatomical, and other health-related teaching models, and health-related journals, CD-ROMS, and videos. These materials may be checked out by health professionals and consumers. The library also houses computers available for use by students and consumers.
Library Services for Nursing Students- (all counties) Provides assistance with search strategies, using OVID and CINAHL databases, for obtaining articles. Also provides access to health-related books, videos, models, and over 100 different brochures. This training allows students to access current and accurate medical information.
Library Services for Health Professionals- (all counties) Provides current health information upon request. Nurses utilize library computers to obtain continuing education hours from various websites. Health-related videos, health models, and books are available for check out.
Library Services for Consumers – (all counties) Provides up-to-date health information upon request. Services include access to health-related videos, models, cookbooks, and over 100 different brochures.
- Videos, teaching models, and other science and health education materials are provided to local teachers.
