As part of the AHEC Scholars Program, UAMS College of Medicine students may choose to enroll in the AHEC Scholars Elective during their senior year.
This longitudinal course is designed to provide students with a strong understanding of the importance of quality improvement, population health and value-based care, and highly marketable leadership skills and tools necessary to promote change within their future practices.

Following completion of required didactic material, students will conduct a 36-hour research project facilitated by a UAMS faculty/staff member.
FMED 8449: AHEC Scholars is offered in the fall and spring semesters and counts as two credit hours (72 contact hours). This course has limited enrollment.
