Thank you for your interest in the UAMS Northwest Family Medicine Residency program!

  • We have NO unfilled positions at this time. Should we have any unfilled positions we will post them to this website.
  • We only offer rotations to outside medical students through the AAMC’s Visiting Student Learning Opportunities, or VSLO, system and spots are limited. Each application must be reviewed and approved by the program director.
  • We cannot sponsor any type of Visa.

Applications are accepted exclusively through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) program. The deadline for receipt of application is January 15 each year.  Information about the ERAS program is available at your dean’s office or through the ECFMG office.

For your application to be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

  • No minimum score requirementsbut we accept no more than three fails on USMLE or COMLEX exams in order to comply with the Arkansas State Medical Board guidelines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • No more than five years out of medical school or three years away from the clinical practice of medicine as a physician.
  • At least one year of supervised clinical experience in a United States health care facility or facilities.
  • Three letters of recommendation from clinical preceptors, your dean, or your advisor
  • Dean’s letter/Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
  • Medical school transcript
  • ECFMG status report if you are an international medical graduate (IMG)

Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and follows the ethical guidelines established by the NRMP in the selection of residents.
