Honors Program for Rural and Urban Underserved Primary Care Medicine

The Honors Program for Rural and Urban Underserved Primary Care Medicine has two primary goals: 1) to provide students with a longitudinal experience that prepares them to provide comprehensive medical care for underserved populations in both rural and urban settings, and 2) to foster student interest in a career practicing primary care in such communities in Arkansas.

Upon completion of the Honors Program in Rural and Urban Underserved Primary Care Medicine, the student will demonstrate enhanced skills and proficiency in the following core topic areas:

2. Population Health
3. Social Determinants of Health
4. Practice Transformation
5. Behavioral Health Integration
6. Interprofessional Education and Practice
7. Cultural Competency
8. Current and Emerging Health Topics
